5 January 1873 Charles fetched him back

4 December 1873 There is a letter from the boy's former employer [spelling and grammar as given]: Memorandum: 4 December 1873, From: John Lloyd 33 Aston Street, Toll End, Tipton. To: The Master of the Reformatory School, Birmingham, Sir, I have received a letter from George Br… [surname smudged with ink], formly apprenticed to me. He wish to come back again. He say you have kindly assented to let him off. I should like to know if this is straightforward, as some time ago the police came and asked me if I had seen or heard anything of him, as he said he had absconded, and if this is all right. Will you please to drop me a few lines. I remain, yours etc, John Lloyd
