The poor mother, a decent-looking woman, is a widow with seven children, and is in the receipt of parochial relief. She stated that the prisoner was idle, and was in the habit of robbing her of all that he could lay hands upon, including the children's scanty clothing. There appearing to be no chance of reforming the young rascal at home. Mr. Davis committed him to prison for a month, with a view of sending him to a reformatory for four years.
