23 April 1864 There is a brief report of his crime in the Staffordshire Advertiser Saturday 23 April 1864 p.7 col.6: A JUVENILE THIEF.-A boy. named George Baggaley, 13 years of age. pleaded guilty to having stolen three pairs of boots, the property of William Edge, Tunstall, and was ordered be sent to gaol for 21 days, to be once whipped, and to be sent to a reformatory for four years.
