7 October 1854 in the Minute Book of the Reformatory it is recorded that Catchpole, who left has since returned under a condition and promise of good behaviour for the future

14 December 1855 In the Minute book it is recorder that: Reverend Sandford Connor, Chaplain to the Army in the East, attended the Committee, and stated his willingness to take Catchpole out to the Crimea as his Servant, at a salary of £20 a year, and requested that the Committee would supply him with suitable clothing.

 Resolved: that Catchpole be allowed to leave the Institution and accept Mr Connor’s offer, and that the Committee do contribute the necessary clothing.

22 December 1855 The Minute book records that: On reading Minute 199 Mr Ratcliff reported that Reverend Sandford Connor had been compelled to leave without Catchpole, but would endeavour to get an order for him to follow.

5 November 1856 The Minute Book reported: 337 Mr Ratcliffe stated the circumstances under which Catchpole is in the Institution.

Resolved that Mr Adderley be requested to write to the Emigration Commissioners on the subject of Catchpole, Walker, and Payne going to Australia.

11 November 1856 The Minute Book stated: 341. Resolved: that Catchpole be informed that his voyage to New Zealand must be postponed at present and that the Committee will send him out at some future time on condition of his filling up his allotted labour and handing over surplus to the Committee towards cost of voyage.

6 December 1856 The Minute Book notes: 350. A letter from Catchpole was read, and the Committee after seeing him, offered to contribute £2 10s if he can earn an equal sum by the next meeting to be applied in the expenses of emigration for himself and the young woman to whom he is about to be married.

10 January 1857 The Minute Book states: 365. on reading Minute 350 J Ellis was referred to. He said that Catchpole had saved a small sum of money towards the expenses of his emigration, but he had altered his determination and would prefer being articled to Mr Brookes and to continue in the Institution.

Resolved: that Catchpole cannot remain in the Institution on the terms stated, but must prepare finally to leave the School before the 25th of March next, having been 5 years an inmate and being upwards of 22 years of age.

Resolved: that five pounds being given to Catchpole, either towards expenses of emigrating or purchasing tools, the latter on condition that his conduct is satisfactory to the Committee at the expiration of three months leaving the School.

7 March 1857 The Minute Book reports: 379. Mr Ratcliff reported that Hy Catchpole had left the Institution in accordance with the Minutes. The Chairman undertook to communicate with June Peason at Wolverhampton, to which place Catchpole had gone.

4 April 1857 In the Reformatory Minute book is recorded: 424. Resolved: that Mr Grove, who is about to emigrate to New Zealand, be induced to take under his charge Catchpole, Walker [boy 47], Campton [boy 54], and Dempsey [boy 86], and that Mr Ratcliff report at next meeting.

20 April 1857 The Minute Book notes: 445. Mr Ratcliff reported that Mr Grove had decided not to leave England.

20 December 1858 The Minute Book reports: 545. A letter was received from James Poole of Coventry, applying for money which had been promised to Henry Catchpole. On referring to Minutes 365 and 379 [noted above], it appeared that enquiries into Catchpole’s conduct were requisite.

     546. Resolved: that the letter be referred to Mr Ratcliff and Mr Gover to report.

5 April 1859 The Minute Book states: 564. On reading Minute 546, Mr Gover reported that he has made enquiries at  Coventry and found that the character of Catchpole is unsatisfactory. He is now in prison.

Resolved: that no pecuniary allowance be made to Catchpole.
